Medical Massage FAQs

What is medical massage?

Medical massage is focused, results-oriented bodywork customized around your specific concerns, areas of tension, movement restrictions, and goals. Sessions may incorporate techniques such as neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, cupping, IASTM, and other appropriate techniques based on your individual needs.

What concerns can medical massage help with?

Sessions may be helpful for people experiencing chronic or recurring muscle tension, neck and back discomfort, sciatica-related discomfort, headaches, TMJ-related tension, limited mobility, sports-related muscle tension, and post-surgical soft-tissue restrictions when massage is appropriate.

Is medical massage the same as a spa massage?

Not exactly. While your comfort is always important, medical massage is more focused on your individual concerns and goals. Your session is customized rather than following a standard, one-size-fits-all routine.

What happens before my session?

We’ll discuss your concerns, goals, relevant history, and areas that are bothering you. When appropriate, movement or range of motion may also be considered so the session can be customized to your needs.

Do I pay extra for different techniques?

No. Sessions are all-inclusive. Appropriate techniques are incorporated as needed at no additional charge. You simply choose the session length that works best for you.
